Below are highlights of previous seasons and races that stuck out in the parents and or coaches minds. We look forward to more names in the future of girls and boys going up here.
2011-2012 Indoor Track
The Mercy girls and boys team both enjoyed levels of success during the indoor season. Some of the highlights are included below:
Sasa Vann- All League, All County, All State and All Federation in the 300m Dash.
Meg Tuthill- All League in 1500m as well as top 6 finishes at the County Championships at 1000m and State Qualifier in the 1500m. Only in 8th grade!!
Delina Auciello- All League in the 600m for the second time and top 6 finisher at the County Meet as well as achieving a time good enough to garner a spot on the line at the State Qualifier.
Tori Tremble- All League in the 55m Hurdles as well as qualifying for the County Championships. Competed for the second year in a row at the state qualifier as the leadoff leg in the 4x400m relay.
Emily Venesina- All League in the 1000m. Qualified to compete at the County Championships and the State Qualifier in the 1000m.
Colleen Edwards- All League in the 1500m Race Walk. Qualified for the County Championships in the same event.
Jay Marano- All League in the Long Jump 17 feet 10 inches earned him a sixth place finish at the League Championships
School Record Bonanza!!
A very large amount of school records were set this year by the Mercy Indoor Teams. Below are the newest additions to the school record club.
Sasa Vann- 300 Meters 41.95
Meg Tuthill- 1000 Meters 3:11.33, 1500 Meters 5:02.93 and 4x800m Relay 10:16.98
Lauren Valle- 1500m Race Walk 8:32.09 (later broken), 3000m 11:44.32, 4x800m Relay 10:16.98
Delina Auciello- 600m 1:44.08, 4x800m Relay 10:16.98
Colleen Edwards- 1500m Race Walk 8:24.16
Emily Venesina- 4x800m Relay 10:16.98
Tori Tremble- 55m Hurdles 9.74
